Lets previous loss ruin his performance
June 16, 2018
Chino failed to show up in a 3-0 loss to OpTic Gaming on Friday at CWL Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
Due to a devastating loss to Splyce before this series, Chino's head just wasn't focused enough to take down OpTic Gaming. While Team EnVyUs is more than just Chino, his leadership skills have been a key reason for the team's online success. On LAN, however, his skills haven't translated. In Round 1 Hardpoint, for example, Team EnVyUs quickly began spawning all over the map into the second set of rotations. Chino wasn't able to rally his teammates together to regain control of spawns, a common answer to staggered spawns. Instead, Chino and his teammates kept getting caught in fights, essentially giving OpTic Gaming three perfect hills in a row.
Falls into an awkward situation
June 16, 2018
Decemate tried to rebound a rough Search & Destroy in a 3-0 loss to OpTic Gaming on Friday at CWL Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
Decemate was caught in a difficult position during this series. Round 2 Search & Destroy quickly spiraled out of control as Decemate found himself continually out of position and forced into 1-vs-2 fights. While he would attempt to clutch these uneven teamfights, Decemate was never able to find the correct positioning against the veterans in OpTic Gaming. Despite this, he was still able to get the best KD out of his team that round, helping the secure at least a few games in a map loss. He tried to carry his momentum into Round 3 Capture the Flag by landing a strong, early push. However, a lack of map control allowed OpTic Gaming to spawn in from behind and flank him before he could pull the flag.
Lands a late-game performance
June 16, 2018
Huke attempted to rally his team in a 3-0 loss to OpTic Gaming on Friday at CWL Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
Coming off of a debilitating loss to Splyce, Huke was in a slump. The hot shoots of OpTic Gaming only furthered his slow day, but he would try to rebound later in the series. Unfortunately, it came too late for Team EnVyUs. Huke showed up with a strong performance in Round 3 Capture the Flag on Flak Tower thanks to a solid first half. This was done largely by using early pushes to catch an unprepared OpTic Gaming off-guard. While Huke's SMG game was strong on Flak Tower, it did little to help even up the game. It did, however, prevent Round 3 Capture the Flag from being an utter blow out for Team EnVyUs.
Loses map control
June 16, 2018
Classic struggled to take control in a 3-0 loss to OpTic Gaming on Friday at CWL Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
Playing the support role, Classic was in charge of holding flanks and spawns for his team. However, the weak shots from Classic and his teammates made that role impossible to fill. Earlier into Round 1 Hardpoint, around the first Turret Hardpoint, Classic lost control of spawns to OpTic Gaming. He struggled to regain any semblance of map control after that hill as his teammates were scattered across the map. Instead of slowing down and regrouping, Classic kept rushing to the Hardpoint and attempting to score kills. It wasn't until the second Castle Hill that he found any map control, but by then it was too late for Team EnVyUs to rebound a win.
Three good rounds in win
May 25, 2018
Huke had three solid round performances in the 3-1 win over Echo Fox on Day 3, Week 2, of CWL Global Pro League, Stage 2.
ANALYSIS
Huke only really struggled in one round of this win over Echo Fox. Round 3 Capture the Flag, which was their only round loss, was a struggle for him. Echo Fox slayed quite well in the round, and Huke was on the other side of that. He went just 15/21 in the round, as they lost with 12 seconds left on the clock. The rest of his performance was quite solid, however. Round 1 Hardpoint saw him play a very aggressive style that had its positives and negatives. He had 31 kills in the round, but paired that with 35 deaths. He led the team in kills, and he constantly was a thorn in the side of Echo Fox. He helped keep Echo Fox busy and away from the objective in the win. Round 2 Search & Destroy was his best round. He was 8/0 through the first five games, and ended with 10 kills in the 6-1 win. It was a pretty painless win, and Huke was the leader for Team EnVyUs. Round 4 Hardpoint saw him play a vital role in the win. It was a very balanced effort from Team EnVyUs, as all four members had between 21 and 24 kills. Huke had a key moment, as he had a huge stand on the Hardpoint to give them a lead in the early goings of the win.
