Looking to join International team
June 7, 2018
NBK has revealed that he is open to joining an international team after being benched from G2.
The 23-year-old French player was recently benched from G2 to make room for shox's revamped lineup to give the team a new look through the remainder of the year. Now, NBK has set his sights on joining an international team, "in need of fresh air," after spending nearly eight years on French rosters. NBK remains tied to G2, which means that his contract must be bough out, or a transfer could be made; however, it is unclear what the future may hold for the two-time Major winner.
Sent down to the bench
June 6, 2018
NBK has been sent to the bench following shox's newly revamped lineup, G2 have announced.
NBK is no longer in charge of G2 as the 24-year-old has been benched on the roster following shox's wrist injury that sidelined the French player to recover from surgery. NBK has initially been going to round out the restructured lineup, but in the end, he went for bodyy after his teammates revealed that they did not wish to play with the 23-year-old, according to Flickshot.fr. Now, NBK's contract is in active negotiations with whomever may be interested, team coach and manager NiaK also revealed in a statement.
Trials as in-game leader
March 12, 2018
G2 have announced that NBK will be the team's next in-game leader on trial.
The news comes as rifler, shox, will be undergoing surgery March 23 to remove a cyst in his right wrist, resulting in a trial for mixwell to fill the void. NBK will be handed an in-game leader trial by G2 as their coach and former player, SmithZz, expressed his desire to return to competitive play. NBK last saw the team win their last offline title at DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017, but have failed to win a playoff series since, including their recent group stage exit at IEM Katowice. NBK's future will be decided in the upcoming months as the team will continue through ESL Pro League as well as the upcoming DreamHack Masters Marseille, which is set to start from April 18-22.
Dominates LDLC in split
October 6, 2017
NBK posted a 56/38 KD in G2 Esports' split with LDLC on Thursday in the ESL Pro League.
NBK continues to have himself quite the season here in the Pro League with another dominating performance. While his team couldn't get the win in Game 1 on Inferno, it wasn't for lack of trying from NBK. They were down 14-6 at one point but managed to come all the way back to force overtime. NBK finished with a game-high 34/25 KD in the 19-17 loss. The second game was a much better showing from all of his team. Everyone was playing on point, and NBK even grabbed the AWP in the win to do some damage. He used it early on in Round 7 to find a triple kill and give his team a 7-0 lead that eventually turned into a 16-5 win.
No momentum in Game 2
September 28, 2017
NBK picked up a 37/42 KD on Wednesday in a 2-0 loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas in ESL Pro League Season 6.
It took a few rounds before NBK found his groove despite the 5-1 deficit early. The entry frags and bomb plants secured the economy and the lead going into the second half 8-7. Although NBK had the frags, the rounds didn't turn in his favor even in the late comeback. Edging close to taking Game 1 on Nuke, NBK took a hard 16-14 loss heading into Game 2 of Overpass. NBK had a rushing first half on Overpass of the defense with his crippling triple kill on the B-bombsite retake to secure the 9-2 lead. Not many rounds were won for NiP as NBK too advantage for the 12-3 lead going into the second. However, NBK was stumped in the second half to win one round out of fourteen played for a sweep 16-13 in Game 2.
Defense blows North out of the water
September 4, 2017
NBK finished with a 32/30 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 sweep over North.
NBK contributed to the 5-0 start on Inferno of Game 1 with a Round 3 double entry kill into the B-bombsite. After giving up Round 6 on a fluke play, NBK came right back to equalize with a double entry into the A-bombsite to take the 6-1 lead. From there the offense dominated and came out on top 11-4. A 2-0 start in the second half almost ensured an easy win but North made it difficult after picking up five straight to make it 13-9. But then NBK pulled together a few more rounds on a slim economy to take Game 1 16-12. Game 2 started slow but NBK worked back into the lead after a 3-0 deficit to start with several quick entry-kills into the A-bombsite for the tie 3-3. North rallied back to secure four straight, but NBK played like a monster with the double entry kills on the B-bombsite to win three straight single-handedly, bringing the score to 8-7. The second half was all NBK and his team with a dominant B-bombsite hold to secure the sweep and the championship.
Calls a great series in win
September 1, 2017
NBK put up a 52/58 KD in G2 Esports' win over Immortals on Day 2 of DreamHack Malmo.
Even though G2 dropped the middle game of this set, they looked pretty strong as a whole. In the first game, NBK was actually leading his team in the early rounds that G2 used to slowly get into a groove. Once everyone else jumped on board, it was off to the races. Even in the Game 2 loss, G2 did their best to stop the furious comeback from Immortals, but the Brazilians were just too resilient. Once the final game booted up, though, NBK had his team playing incredibly loose and decisive. They looked to be completely at ease with their strategies and easily dispatched Immortals to lock up the 2-1 victory.
Perfect on defense in Game 1
August 27, 2017
NBK gathered a 31/33 KD on Thursday in a 1-1 split against North in ESL Pro League Season 6.
NBK started out with a slower pace on the offense of Nuke until Round 8 where he contributed to a double kill on the B-bombsite to help the team tie the game up 4-4. However, only two more rounds were won as NBK picked up a handful of frags before the 9-6 half ended. In the second half, NBK remained perfect on defense to win 10 rounds in a row, shutting down everything North tried to throw at him for a 16-9 win. In Game 2, NBK had another slow start with little to no rounds won until late in the half where he secured Round 12 with a double kill to sweep the B-bombsite. He contributed to two more rounds won of what was left in the first half for a 9-6 deficit. During the second half, NBK struggled on offense only able to get one bomb down in the only round won as he completed the split after a 16-7 loss on Cobblestone.
Brilliant calls lead to sweep
August 24, 2017
NBK put up a 34/26 KD in G2 Esports' 2-0 sweep of Astralis on Wednesday in the ESL Pro League.
NBK called a great series here against Astralis on Wednesday. After looking pretty poor against FaZe Clan on Tuesday, many would have expected G2 to meet a similar fate against Astralis here. Instead, they came out very strong. He helped G2 wade through a back-and-forth first half of Game 1 on Overpass before running away with the game in the second half. On Inferno for Game 2, G2 completely trounced Astralis from start to finish. NBK added in some nice triple kills in the later rounds to inch them closer to the eventual 16-6 win, as well. If NBK can keep G2 in line and playing like this, they will be well on their way to a nice placement here in the Pro League.
Dismal Game 1 finish
August 23, 2017
NBK posted a 25/39 KD on Tuesday in a 2-0 loss to FaZe Clan in ESL Pro League Season 6.
NBK had a rather dismal overall performance in Game 1 on Cache, with only three rounds won in the first half and a 4-0 blowout in the second for a 16-3 loss and fewer than 10 frags. However, NBK stepped his game up in Game 2 of Overpass with a neck-and-neck battle in the first half on the defense. NBK came up big on several bombsite holds and odd-man retakes to settle the first half up 8-7. The second half was slower, and it didn't pick up much beside NBK's Round 22 ace following a limited buy round. The round won would give G2 two more rounds as FaZe Clan toppled for a 16-12 win.
Consistent in win over TyLoo
July 6, 2017
NBK posted a firm 20/12 KD for G2 Esports on Tuesday with a win over TyLoo at ESL Cologne.
NBK faced a hard task right off the bat on Cache with a 3-0 deficit on the defense. NBK finally found his groove in Round 4 with a contribution in the 2-vs-1 post-plant win to take the first round of the half. However, NBK struggled to keep up with the offense as TyLoo began to expand their lead up 7-1. NBK then turned on all cylinders and picked apart the offense for the remainder of the half, which led to an 8-7 deficit. The second half was was a free-for-all as NBK racked up the kills and rounds for the offense to secure the lead early on. TyLoo only managed to win one round against the offense of NBK, who dominated in the second half, winning eight out of nine rounds for the 16-9 win with an 86.0 ADR.
Smart plays lead to win
July 6, 2017
NBK posted a KD of 18/16 in G2 Esports' win over SK Gaming on Thursday at ESL Cologne.
NBK started slow like most of his team in this game, only posting one kill in the first five rounds. Despite the slow start, he did have a sneaky play to not back fully away from a Molotov, which caught fer off guard and allowed NBK to get the kill to turn the round around. He still only managed five kills in the first half, however. In the second half, he came up with a double kill in Round 18 to tie things up. From that point, G2 went 7-2 to pick up the win and punch their tickets into the playoffs.
Late double kill secures sweep
June 9, 2017
NBK finished G2's win over Virtus.pro on Thursday in the ECS with a 34/39.
NBK came out the gate in this series a bit slow, which is perhaps why the early game was pretty even between these two teams. While he did get a 3k in the pistol round to start off, he didn't do much else in the first half of the game. He recovered a bit in the late stages of the second half though, with a double in Round 22 and a quad kill in Round 23 to push his team ahead in the game. He continued this backwards slide into Game 2, where he went just 14/21. He was respectable in the first half, but disappeared in the second half of the game. This allowed VP to start mounting a comeback. He managed to show back up just in time to lock up the 16-14 win with a double kill in the final round, though.
Strong performance in draw vs NiP
June 8, 2017
NBK posted a solid 44/39 KD in the final week of the Esports Championship Series Season 3 on Wednesday in a series draw 1-1 with the Ninjas in Pyjamas.
NBK made it look easy taking a massive lead to the first half of Cache on the offense with a 5-0 start. NBK seemed too comfortable and began to make some mistakes that eventually led to the economy going to the tank. NBK took a hard eight-round loss to NiP but NBK came back for two more rounds to close the half down 8-7. NBK trailed his performance in the first half of Game 1 to the second with a sluggish start to the half; however, eventually the tables turned as NBK contributed to a massive seven-round streak, including his triple kill to hold the line on the A-bombsite for the 14-11 lead. NBK eventually closed out Game 1 with a 16-12 win, earning a 22/18 KD and 90.5 ADR. Game 2 NBK took a slow approach to the first half with a 6-0 deficit on the offense of Train to start the half. NBK then rallied back with the team to win five straight and eventually dominate the second half for the 8-7 comeback. NBK had a dismal second half but managed to win the final round for G2 with a triple-kill hold on the A-bombsite. NBK lost Game 2 16-11, earning a solid 22/21 KD and 94.1 ADR.
Big earnings in win over North
June 4, 2017
NBK earned a respected 71/60 KD in the ESL Pro League Season 5 best-of-five Grand Finals with a 3-1 win over North on Sunday.
NBK had a quick start on Cache for the defense earning a Round 2 ace to get G2 up early 2-0. Though he fell off heavily in the first half for a 10-5 deficit at the half. The second half was much better as NBK looked strong on the offense winning 11 rounds over North's defense to take Map 1 16-13. Map 2 NBK had another great start on the defense of Cobblestone immediately shutting down the offense of North on an aggressive B-bombsite execution that gave NBK the confidence to power through the half up 12-3. Some confusion and a misplay at the start of the second half resulted in a four-round streak to close Cobblestone 16-5. NBK didn't have a great Map 3 performance despite a second half comeback that fell short of a win as North capitalized on a late 16-14 win. In return, NBK thrashed his opponents on Map 4 with a huge defensive first half on Inferno to go up 13-2. NBK then dominated in the second half to take Inferno 16-3 and the title earning a team-leading 87.3 ADR.
