Natus Vincere
Gutsy playstyle pays off
April 14, 2018
GeneRaL went 9/3/23 in Natus Vincere's 2-0 win against SG esports at StarLadder.
GeneraL's Clockwerk in the series opener surprisingly one his lane against Liposa's Razor. His Hookshots were perfect during the mid game and SG esports never got going. His Slardar in the 2nd game had a slightly rougher laning stage but he still managed an 11-minute Blink Dagger. After the Dagger, General just dictated the tempo of the game with ease.
Shot blanks against Newbee
February 21, 2018
General was a non-factor in Natus Vincere's defeat against Newbee in ESL Katowice 2018. The versatile offlaner was limited to a KDA of 1/11/14.
In Game 1, General played Beastmaster in the bottom lane. He lost his matchup against Moogy's Razor and was played behind the whole of Game 1. General did help Natus Vincere's vision game, but his late Necronomicon really hurt his team's chances. In Game 2, General played Brewmaster. He again did not have the desired impact, as his crowd control during Brew Splits was underwhelming at best.
Rough series for the Na'Vi offlane
January 24, 2018
GeneRaL finished with an overall KDA of 7/10/12 in a 0-2 loss to Liquid at ESL One Genting.
In Game 1 GeneRaL played Batrider. This was a rough game for GeneRaL. All the rotations to his lane failed to secure kills, and he went into the mid game without an advantage in either gold or levels. It was difficult for him to initiate against Liquid's myriad of disables, and he finished with a 1/5/3 KDA. In Game 2 GeneRaL played Nature's Prophet. He had a nice early game, but was unable to transition smoothly into the mid and late game. There was a lot of catch on the Liquid side, specifically aimed at finding GeneRaL and killing him while he tried to split the map. He finished with a 6/5/9 KDA.
Starts off ESL Genting with a big win
January 23, 2018
GeneRaL played Tiny against Evil Geniuses, finishing with an 8/3/15 KDA.
He was a constant thorn in the side of EG all game, moving around the map and hunting for kills. His presence in this game made sure that no one on EG felt safe farming at any point in the game, which allowed Na'Vi to take a huge lead. This lead led to teamfight wins, which in turn snowballed Na'Vi's advantage even more.
Sloppy game all around
December 8, 2017
GeneRal had a terrible series for Natus Vincere in their lost against Virtus Pro in MDL Macau. The off laner finished with a KDA of 2/8/9.
GeneRal played Omniknight in the only game of the matchup. His early game was disastrous as his innate tankiness didn't really matter against VP. He went for Drums of Endurance early, but the item was mostly used for running rather than taking out towers. In the late game, there were some moments when he couldn't even cast Guardian Angel before dying.
Rough series for the Na'Vi offlane
December 2, 2017
GeneRaL had a difficult series in a 0-2 loss to Evil Geniuses at the DreamLeague Season 8 Major. He finished with a 2/13/5 overall KDA. Na'Vi is eliminated from the event, finishing in fourth place.
GeneRaL started the series out on Brewmaster, but it would be a very unpleasant experience. He died three times in the first five minutes of the game, and things never really improved for the Na'Vi offlane after that. He continued to try and initiate, but all this meant was more deaths. He finished with a 1/8/2 KDA. GeneRaL played Brewmaster again in Game 2. Although things started out well for Na'Vi this time, in the end GeneRaL enjoyed a similar experience to Game 1. His initiation as the game went later became more and more desperate, and Na'Vi's early lead slipped away. He finished with a 1/5/3 KDA.
Closes out the series with a fantastic Game 3
December 1, 2017
GeneRaL played a great series against Fnatic at the Dreamleague Season 8 Major. He finished with a 17/20/27.
In Game 1 GeneRaL played Pugna. Although he played it pretty well, this was a rough game for GeneRaL. He did a lot of damage to both buildings and structures, but was often the target of Fnatic's concentrated fire. He finished the game with an 8/8/7 KDA, the most deaths on his team. In Game 2 GeneRaL played Weaver. This was a rough affair for GeneRaL all around. His lane was difficult against EternaLEnVy's Bristleback, and then he just didn't have the health to take fights when his team needed him. GeneRaL was way more fragile than Weaver needs to be in order to fight, and it really showed in his 5/7/7 KDA. In Game 3 GeneRaL played an excellent Brewmaster. His initiation was almost always spot on, setting up Na'Vi for easy and overwhelming fight wins. Although Na'Vi did struggle to fight without Primal Split, they more than made up for it when GeneRaL's ultimate was available. He finished with a 4/5/13 KDA.
Solid performance from the off laner
October 20, 2017
GeneRal was one of the best performers for Na'Vi in their match against Mineski at the PGL Minor. The consistent off laner finished with a KDA of 24/12/17.
GeneRal went with Puck in Game 1 of the series. He bucked a bad start and got a late Blink Dagger. He had some good Dream Coils, but Na'Vi needed him to make plays earlier for their them to have any chance. In Game 2, his Weaver was the stand-out MVP of the match. His farm was insane and he was single-handedly making space for Crystallize to get his farm. GeneRal's Pugna in Game 3 of the series was providing a lot of intangibles for Na'Vi. He was shoving out the lanes and providing solid hero damage for his team. He ended the game with a positive KDA, but GeneRal would have wanted more from his team.
Very impressive series from the Na'Vi off lane
October 13, 2017
GeneRaL finished with an overall KDA of 23/11/23 in Na'Vi's 2-1 win over Team Secret at the Starladder iLeague Minor in Kiev.
In Game 1 GeneRaL played Tiny. Although it probably caught Secret by surprise, this off-lane Tiny pick was just not good. The hero needs levels and gold to function, and GeneRaL didn't get enough of either. He failed to find kills with his combo, and quickly faded into uselessness. He finished with a 1/4/1 KDA. In Game 2 GeneRaL played Pugna. He played excellently in this game after a miserable start to the series. His positioning was consistently good enough to keep him alive, and Nether Ward was an absolute terror for Secret's heroes. He finished with a 7/0/5 KDA. GeneRaL played Pugna again in Game 3. He played another excellent game on this hero. He didn't dominate as hard as in Game 2, but his positioning was once again great and he was able to deal a huge amount of damage in fights. He dealt a total of 73,200 damage over an hour and 25 minutes in this game, finishing with a 15/7/17 KDA.
Horrible second game highlights his performance
June 7, 2017
GeneraL churned out a forgettable performance against LGD.FY for Natus Vincere in Epicenter. The touted off laner finished with a KDA of 3/11/11.
In Game 1, GeneraL's Dark Seer started the series with a good laning phase. He got his farm going and even made some good plays with his teammate's Disruptor, but overall, he could simply not impact the game enough. In Game 2, his Legion Commander was painful to watch. He abandoned his lane early after getting picked off two times before the 10-minute mark. He allowed his opponents free farm in the safe lane and couldn't farm to save his life. His initiations after a late 16-minute Blink Dagger resulted in minimal gains for himself and his squad.
Awkward draft leaves GenRaL ill equipped
March 11, 2017
GeneRaL finished Natus Vincere's 1-0 loss to Virtus.Pro during the round robin phase of the CIS Regional Qualifiers for the Kiev Major with a final KDA of 5/4/8.
GeneRaL played NightStalker in the offlane and only accumulated a handful of items throughout the game. Traditionally a hero dependent on early and consistent ganks, GeneRaL's NightStalker was shutdown and easily kited by VP's tanky heroes.
Gimped by drafting
February 8, 2017
GeneRaL finished Natus Vincere's 2-0 loss to Team Secret during the Dota2 Asia Championships European Qualifiers with a final KDA of 9/14/21.
In Game 1, GeneRaL played a roaming Axe. His farming success came quickly and was just as quickly stymied. Despite his aggressive play and well-timed engagements, GeneRaL seemed to have the wrong hero or the wrong supporting cast to truly take advantage of his successes. In Game 2, GeneRaL played Sand King in a solo safe lane. Although he was hindered in lane by MP's Weaver, GeneRaL managed to get his Blink Dagger in a respectable amount of time. Once again impeded by the team's synergy, GeneRaL was unable to unleash his hero's full potential as Na'Vi was sent home.
Rare bad showing for Na'Vi's offlane
February 6, 2017
GeneRaL was forced into a poor game by B)ears in Na'Vi's loss in the Dota Asia Championship EU Qualifiers. The offlaner finished with a KDA of 12/13/14.
He started off the series with Sand King in the offlane. GeneRaL picked up a late Blink Dagger timing at 16 minutes, which severely impacted his potential to control the game in Na'Vi's favor. He was only involved in 13 kills, but did manage to pick up a 36-minute Scythe of Vyse but it was too little too late for Na'Vi at that point as they call the GG at 41 minutes. In Game 2, he was on Weaver, a hero he has only used six times professionally. His lack of experience showed as he had moments where he gave away unnecessary kills in favor of B)ears in the underwhelming performance.
Solid showing from Na'Vi's off lane
October 26, 2016
GeneRaL, another cog in Na'Vi's future, played an average series against Alliance. The young off laner finished with a KDA of 7/5/35.
GeneRaL did his best trying to make space for Na'Vi as it was enough to force out the draw against Alliance. In his first game as Sand King, he managed to pick up a 13-minute Blink Dagger. Even with the early Dagger, he couldn't set up enough plays for Na'Vi, as they eventually lost the game. In the second game GeneRaL was on the Spirit Breaker, and he made the risky move count. He was everywhere making plays for Na'Vi and had an impressive 24 assists to show for it.
A won lane, but a lost game for Na'Vi's off laner
August 9, 2016
GeneRaL struggled in Na'Vi's final game at The International 6. He finished the game with a 4/4/8 KDA.
GeneRaL played Faceless Void in the Dire off lane in Na'Vi's elimination game vs Team Liquid. GeneRaL did very well in lane, helping secure first blood and putting a lot of pressure on MATUMBAMAN. After the lane, GeneRaL would not have much fun. Getting off an effective Chronosphere against Naga Siren and Shadow Demon is nearly impossible, and GeneRaL wasn't playing well enough to prove that wrong. Na'Vi's International 6 hopes are now over.
