Armel Paul Tabios
One mistake sullied great game
August 20, 2018
Armel had a stellar game but it was for naught as his team are eliminated from The International 2018. The Filipino midlaner finished with a KDA of 12/2/8.
Armel brought Tiny to the midlane in the important match against Mineski. He was getting a lot of last hits despite the Undying pressure he faced at the midlane. Armel still got a 12-minute Blink Dagger and used it to lead TNC to a tremendous 15,000 networth lead. But TNC were tentative to close out the game and they were eventually punished by deadly Mineski Double Damage powered flank.
Forgetabble showing from TNC star
August 18, 2018
Armel looked lost against Team Secret as TNC take two more losses in The International 2018. The Filipino star finished with a KDA of 10/13/8.
Armel kicked off the important series with Storm Spirit in the midlane. He was off to a thundering start as he dominated MidOne's Arc Warden during the laning stage. Unfortunately for Armel, he was often ganked by Secret in the mid game to prevent him from snowballing to a raid boss. Secret didn't manage to slow Armel down that much, however, as he was still getting important pickoffs for his team. But a crucial death for Armel in the late game cost them the game. In Game 2, Armel shifted to the safelane with Ursa. Despite having a favorable matchup against Fata's Wraith King, Armel was killed in the laning stage. Overall, Armel just felt underwhelming as he was not really doing anything for TNC most of the time.
Sent to the lower bracket by Liquid
June 4, 2018
Armel finished a disappointing 2-0 loss to Team Liquid at the China Supermajor with an overall KDA of 8/15/13.
In Game 1 Armel played Ember Spirit. He had a miserable lane against Miracle but managed to play well despite it. He made the right plays to start a comeback but just didn't have the items or levels to make them work. His aggressive mindset led to some nice kills but Armel was also extremely vulnerable. He finished with a 6/8/11 KDA. In Game 2 Armel couldn't get anything done on Dragon Knight. He offered little in fights besides a stun, dying quickly despite his natural durability. He finished with a 2/7/2 KDA.
Hotshot series from TNC's middle lane
June 2, 2018
Armel was excellent in both games of a 2-0 win vs Evil Geniuses at the China Supermajor. He finished with an overall KDA 31/13/41.
Armel played Death Prophet in Game 1, giving TNC a solid tanky core to play around in fights as well as nice objective taking follow-up. After a rocky mid-game, Armel really buckled down in the late-game to bring it back for TNC and take the game away from EG. He finished with a 14/5/28 KDA. In Game 2 Armel hunted EG with Bloodseeker. He transitioned well from dominating his lane into setting the pace of the game and creating space for Raven. His Euls into Blademail start seemed odd, but it let him play extremely recklessly in fights. He finished with a 17/8/13 KDA.
Out of his element
May 16, 2018
Armel was schooled by Mineski in MDL Changsha. The mid laner finished with a KDA of 5/13/13.
Armel's Dragon Knight never felt safe in the whole of Game 1. He struggled in the laning stage against Moon's Timbersaw. When he tried to rotate to other lanes it was Mushi's Gyrocopter who took him out as TNC were powerless against Mineski's snowball. In Game 2, Armel looked uncomfortable on his Gyrocopter in the mid lane. His rotations weren't really amounting to much, and his Power Treads and Sange & Yasha item build fell way beyond expectation as his team struggled to keep up.
Took his chances with Queen of Pain
May 14, 2018
Armel had a solid but ultimately futile series for TNC in their draw against Newbee in MDL Changsha. The young mid laner finished with a KDA of 18/8/17.
Armel took his chances with his favorite Queen of Pain in both games of the series. He managed to school Sccc's Lina in the opening game and prevented him from ever getting any proper momentum. His choice of Eul's Scepter of Divinity and Linken's Sphere allowed him to really weave in and out of teamfights with ease. But in Game 2, Newbee were more than prepared to deal with Armel's Queen of Pain. It was Sccc and his Kunkka's turn to dominate Armel in the laning stage. He still racked up the kills but Newbee's crowd control really prevented Armel from doing more for TNC.
More annoying than deadly on his Puck
March 6, 2018
Armel failed to step up to his lofty expectations as TNC lose against Vici Gaming Thunder at the Bucharest Major. The young mid laner finished with a KDA of 5/4/11.
Armel has so far shown he had what it took to stand with the best at Bucharest Major. But he couldn't hurdle his biggest challenge against Freeze of VGJ.T. He farmed well enough early on Puck grabbing a 15-minute Blink Dagger. But his initiations against VGJ.T were more annoying than deadly. He only got five kills and 11 assists in the very important match.
Role shift turns out poorly
July 5, 2017
Armel played a very poor game for Clutch Gamers's in their loss against Evil Geniuses in MDL 2017. The young star finished with a KDA of 0/6/4.
Armel went with Drow in the aggressive tri lane set up. Unfortunately Armel never got going as his struggles began from an early point in the game. They lost their tri lane and Armel didn't get much space for himself to farm. His 15-minute Mask of Madness was acceptable, but the risky item did not pay off, as he died six times while not picking up a single kill.
Struggles continue for CG's mid
June 6, 2017
Armel's struggles on the world stage continues as Clutch Gamers fall to Invictus Gaming in Epicenter. The young mid player finished with a KDA of 5/7/13.
Armel opening game on his favorite Outworld Devourer saw him get dominated by Op's Shadow Fiend. He fell behind early in the laning phase against Op and things turned very bleak for his team. Armel found ways to flash farm and keep his net worth relevant but he was lacking in his team fight output as he only had two kills to show for it. In Game 2 on Puck was a much more involved effort for the young played. Unfortunately, he again lost in the laning stage against Op, but he was more of a helpful presence for his team in the lost after picking up a good nine-minute Veil of Discord.
The Heart and Soul of Clutch Gamers
March 12, 2017
Armel was the lone bright star for his team in Clutch Gamer's loss to Mineski in the Kiev Major SEA Qualifiers. The Filipino fan-favorite finished with a KDA of 16/9/16.
Armel kicked off the series with his Tinker. He farmed well against raging potato in the early game and got his Boots of Travel at a very good time. He picked up an Aether Lens and an Aghanim's Scepter by the 22 minute mark but he couldn't capitalize with it as much as he would have liked. His hero was too slow to keep up with Mineski's pinpoint and constant aggression. Armel was also outplayed by raging potato in key moments of the game. They surprisingly dropped Game 1 against Mineski after their impressive run in the Group Stages. In Game 2, Armel went with his signature Templar Assassin. He had good farm in the early game as he picked up an 11-minute Desolator and a 14-minute Blink Dagger. Despite the items, Armel was hard-pressed to make much happen as Mineski were always ready for him and foiled his chances of setting the tempo.
