Duke was involved in only 11 of 34 kills in the series, but showed some surprising power on the Aatrox.

Focus on tanks
January 15, 2018
Duke ended Monday's 1-2 loss to RNG with a 5/6/10 combined KDA.
ANALYSIS
Duke and iG took the LPL heavyweights to three games but ultimately fell short in game three to drop the first series of the new season. Duke focused on playing tanks throughout the three-game series, playing two games of Ornn and a game of Maokai. In Game 1, Duke used Ornn to finish with a 3/1/3 KDA. He was able to effectively set up kills in teamfights by utilizing Call of the Forge Lord to finish tied for the team-high in kills. In Game 2, Duke used Maokai and finished with a 0/2/2 KDA. He struggled to have much impact on the game but did have an assist on two of iG's three kills as RNG evened the series. Returning to Ornn in Game 3, Duke finished with a 2/3/5 KDA. He played fairly well, ending with the third highest kill total and second highest assist total on the team.

He was involved in 10 of iG's 18 kills in Game 3, finishing with the second-highest kill total on the team with four kills. Despite the strong play in Game 3, Duke was substituted back out in favor of TheShy for Game 4.
Near deathless in series victory over EDG
August 21, 2017
Duke earned a series KDA of 2/3/13 in his team's clean sweep against EDG.
ANALYSIS
Starting things off on Maokai, Duke put up a decent performance to bring his team a convincing Game 1 victory. Although unable to find a sizable lead for himself, he easily moved with his team in skirmishes to secure wins. Dying only once in the process, he earned a decent 0/1/5 KDA in his team's 30-minute victory. Game 2 went even better as he found himself on Cho'gath and quickly became an unstoppable force. Finding a decent lead in lane, he had no trouble destroying enemies in teamfights, though he found himself dying occasionally in the process. Although he died, he had a strong impact before his death, allowing IG to take a 29-minute victory and close out the series 2-0.
How the mighty have fallen
July 31, 2017
Duke disappointed in his lone game versus OMG on Saturday by going 1/4/5.
ANALYSIS
It is a bit sad to watch Duke this split after he was one of the better top laners in the LPL during the spring. To add insult to injury, his replacement played the exact same matchup in his games with Rumble versus Xiyang's Camille and found much more success. Part of the issue with his play was that he did not respect the jungle ganks by Elise coupled with Camille's slow and Hextech Ultimatum, which made his lane an easy one to fall behind in.
Can't get it done
April 20, 2017
Duke had disappointing series, going 2/9/17 vs. NB on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Although a 2/9/17 KDA is not necessarily bad in three games as a top laner, the fact that Duke played carries on two of the games means he underperformed. In Game 1, playing Fiora, Duke was solo killed by V twice. During Game 2, he was unable to secure a single kill even though he had the advantage of Gragas's strong early game. By Game 3, Duke appeared totally disheveled and went a paltry 1/4/2 on Rumble.
No need to carry to look good
April 18, 2017
Duke had a solid showing going 5/5/12 in a series win vs. OMG on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Game 1 Duke was killed pre-lane phase when iG tried a cheeky invade. However, the early deficit was inconsequential as the team had a massive advantage in jungle and bottom lane, thus all he needed to do was choose good spots to use Camille's ult. Game 2 Duke brought Maokai back and proved that the nerfs are not enough to stifle his mechanical prowess. In teamfights, he was able to soak up an absurd amount of damage on his way to disrupting OMG's back line.
Strong in Game 1 before anonymous Game 2
April 13, 2017
Duke ended iG's loss to LGD with a 8/6/5 KDA in two games as Rumble.
ANALYSIS
Duke finished Game 1 with a 8/4/3 KDA. He picked up five kills and an assist in teamfights throughout the game, but was also able to create picks throughout the game, generating three kills and two assists. Duke struggled to impact Game 2, ending with a 0/2/2 KDA. He had an assist picking of Jinoo in the mid game and his final assist in the second teamfight.
Struggled in teamfights late throughout series loss
April 10, 2017
Duke scored a 5/8/8 KDA in Invictus Gaming's 2-0 series loss to Snake on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
In Game 1, Duke's Shen had an uneventful laning phase and didn't really join fights until around the 23-minute mark. The teamfights didn't go well for Invictus Gaming as it got picked apart in throughout the second half. Duke made a few saves with Stand United but it in the end it wasn't enough to turn around any fights. He finished with a lowly 2/4/1 KDA in Game 1 and it didn't get much better in Game 2. Duke's Kled had a more exciting start as he secured the first two kills for Invictus Gaming which included first blood. The rest of the game didn't go great as Invictus Gaming continued to struggle in teamfights. Duke mainly got assists in teamfights during the second half as he went on to finish with a 3/4/7 KDA in Game 2.
Let the man carry
April 2, 2017
Duke is high point for team as he goes 11/7/9 in KDA in loss to RNG Friday
ANALYSIS
If even Duke can't make Maokai work in top lane, then it is probably time to admit that the champion no longer has a place in the meta. He ended Game 1 with a 2/5/4 KDA, which isn't necessarily an utter disaster, however his lane opponent went 8/0/5 on Kled making the result all the more dire. In Game 2 Duke used his opportunity to carry to the fullest, going 9/1/5 on Rumble. However in Game 3 Duke was again asked to play a utility tank in Gragas, and unfortunately for iG, it was his worst game of the series as he failed to secure a single kill. Perhaps the only carry top laner Duke is comfortable on right now is Rumble, otherwise it is unclear as to why the team was reluctant to put the series in the hands of their arguably best player.
Solid tank play leads iG to win
March 31, 2017
Duke earned a KDA of 9/5/21 in Invictus Gaming's 2-1 series win vs I May on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Duke had a solid Game 1 performance as Shen, neutralizing AmazingJ's Kennen. Split-pushing with relative impunity to an impressive 310 CS, Invictus Gaming got ahead early and remained in control throughout the game. Finishing with a 4/1/12 KDA, Duke shined as iG took Game 1 in 39 minutes. Duke couldn't repeat his success on Maokai in Game 2, though, as I May came alive with great rotational play in the mid game. AmazingJ's Nautilus held Duke in check, leading to a 2/4/5 KDA for Duke and a 32-minute win for I May. Duke returned to Shen for Game 3, where Duke slowly pulled ahead of AmazingJ's Maokai. In a methodical domination from Invictus, Duke earned a KDA of 3/0/4 as iG took the series 2-1.
Split push pressure aids in closing out sweep
March 27, 2017
Duke scored a 13/5/22 KDA in Invictus Gamings 2-0 series win against Game Talents on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Duke had an easy laning phase in Game 1 on Rumble against Shen. He didn't pick up any kills, but headed into the mid game with a decent CS advantage. In every teamfight, Duke was expertly laying down The Equalizer or burning up Game Talents with Flamespitter earning him the most damage dealt to champions on Invictus Gaming. In Game 2, Duke didn't build much of a CS lead, but got the upper hand after turning around a 2-vs-1 for a double kill. Duke spent more time split pushing than grouped with teammates in the second half of Game 2 that cut down on his kill participation, but still finished with a respectable 7/4/7 KDA.
