Racks up assists in big win
June 28, 2018
Mata was an assist machine during KT Rolster's 2-0 win over Griffin on Thursday, finishing with a KDA of 4/5/22.
ANALYSIS
Mata started off the series on the playmaking Alistar and his presence was immediately felt. With KT putting a heavy focus on the top lane, he walked right up there and landed a textbook Headbutt/Pulverize combo that resulted in a kill on Sword and kept Smeb with a sizable lead in the top lane. He continued having a strong presence in every teamfight as KT picked up a lightning fast 23-minute win. He switched over to Ornn in Game 2 and actually had an even greater impact. He tallied the same amount of kills at 11, but also managed to add in four kills to go along with it. Those ended up being key as those kills went a long way to helping KT win the late game teamfights that locked up the 2-0 sweep against the previously undefeated Griffin.

Can't do enough to put KT ahead
January 18, 2018
Mata earned a KDA of 0/4/7 in KT Rolster's 1-2 Wednesday loss to Afreeca Freecs in the LCK.
ANALYSIS
Mata did what he could on Wednesday as Braum in Games 1 and 2 but ultimately didn't contribute much to KT's successes. Game 1 was a roll from Afreeca, who dominated on the back of Kramer's Kog'Maw rotating around the map and abusing Smeb's Gangplank. Game 2 went better for Mata as he linked up with Deft's Varus to lock down Afreeca's members, picking up a 0/2/6 KDA in the 40-minute win. Counter-picking TusiN's Tahm Kench away in Game 3, there wasn't enough Mata could do to keep Deft from inting into Afreeca's pick-heavy team comp time and time again. Even with Devour available to him, Deft's poor positioning and lack of a QSS against a Malzahar cost KT dearly, as Mata could do little more than watch as Afreeca took a 2-1 series win.
Looking for better fortune in 2018

ANALYSIS
Mata and KT were unable to win an LCK title or even qualify for the World Championships after coming into 2017 with all kinds of hype. The squad is talented enough to make a much better go of things during 2018.
Plays a lot of Thresh

He used Thresh in the first four games of the series, going 2-2 with a 1/3/24 KDA on the Chain Warden. He was excellent in KT's wins, finishing with a perfect 1/0/18 KDA in the first two games. It was all downhill from there, however, as he managed only nine assists in the final three games, including a 1/5/3 performance on Alistar in the decisive Game 5 after Thresh was banned.

Takes time to ramp up in series victory
July 12, 2017
Mata earned a series KDA of 3/7/24 in KT's 2-1 series victory against JAG.
ANALYSIS
Starting things off on Thresh, Mata didn't have a stellar performance, but he did what needed to be done to find victory. Protecting his team was his main priority and he did just that, initiating fights and dying to allow his carries to survive. This strategy paid off, as he earned a meager 0/3/5 KDA but allowed Deft and Score to take over the game and claim a swift victory. Game 2 didn't go as well despite Mata performing slightly better. Picking Thresh again, he allowed his team to take a convincing early game, finding a lead that ultimately allowed his team to crack the enemy base. Despite finding an exposed Nexus, Mata missed all of his abilities in a crucial final fight, allowing JAG to come back and take a 59-minute victory. The loss didn't stop KT or Mata, who stormed into Game 3 to take a near perfect game. Picking Zyra, he found several kills in lane and began dominating as skirmishes erupted. Finding kills left and right, he snowballed his team to a near-perfect 29-minute victory, closing out the series 2-1.
Combines well with Deft
July 7, 2017
Mata ended KT's win over RNG with a 3/2/12 KDA as Alistar.
ANALYSIS
Mata pulled out the Alistar, combining well with Deft's Kalista to help his marksman dominate the bottom lane of RNG. Mata finished involved in 15 of KT's 22 kills, finishing one assist behind Score for the most on the team. He was also slightly bloodthirsty, as his three kills were one more than Pawn and tied with Score for the third highest on the team. He was able to utilize Alistar's multiple crowd-control abilities to set up kills and help KT dominate teamfights.
