Signs with Giants
May 28, 2018
SirNukesAlot will make his EU LCS debut with the Vodafone Giants this summer, reports Jacob Wolf of ESPN esports.
Having played with various Challenger teams over the years, SirNukesAlot will finally make his way to the big leagues with the Giants during the Summer Split. He'll be coming into a struggling Giants team that is looking to improve on a ninth-place finish during the Spring Split. SirNukesAlot will replace Targamas on the main roster after the former support was removed from the team earlier this month. Time will tell whether this move will end up changing the fortune of this team moving forward.
Engage potential ignored
March 4, 2018
Targamas went 0/2/8 as Giants fell to G2 on Saturday.
Targamas' Tahm Kench played just fine in this game, but it felt like he had the potential to do more. With neither Olaf nor Kled providing the most reliable target for Galio's Heroic Entrance, Targamas could've been a viable option, as his backline access with Abyssal Voyage could've allowed for better placement of the area-of-effect knockup, or set up a pincer attack. It's hard to say if the absence of this type of play was the fault of Targamas, Betsy, or the team as a whole, but given how many Giants engages failed in this game, it would've been nice to see the attempt.
Simply outscaled

Steeelback finished off Giants' loss on Saturday to G2 with a 2/2/5 KDA.
Steeelback's Caitlyn performed exactly as expected in the matchup against Tristana. Steeelback found an early lead in lane, but eventually couldn't keep up in damage. This was truly the story of Giants, as they had neither the tankiness or DPS to match G2 at six items, which is when the latter made their move to take the game.
A tad trigger happy
March 4, 2018
Betsy's scoreline read 2/2/5 at the end of Giants' loss to G2 on Saturday.
Betsy had two decent targets for Galio's Heroic Entrance in Ruin's Kled and Djoko's Olaf in this game, but neither were quite ideal. The lack of reliable lockdown, of the type provided by a Camille or Jarvan IV, was absent from the team composition, demanding that Betsy choose and time his ultimates a bit more carefully. He didn't seem to consider this, however, as he repeatedly pulled the trigger on his ultimate at the beginning of the engagement, before any escapes or Summoner Spells were blown. Sometimes this worked out, but there were also several fumbled engagements as a result, just enough to allow G2 to power up its late-game carries and take the game.
Falls off before game's end
March 4, 2018
Djoko ended Giants' Saturday loss to G2 with a KDA of 2/2/5.
Djoko's Olaf was solid in the first half of the game, being a key part of all of Giants' plays in the early-to-mid game. However, as is usually the case with Olaf, he eventually reached the point where he could no longer adequately threaten G2's carries. As G2 continued to scale up, Djoko became less and less useful, and a less reliable target for Heroic Entrance. Ultimately, his ineffectiveness in the late game helped lead to a loss for Giants.

Fnatic finally snatched the EU LCS crown from G2 Esports with a dominating 3-0 win. That was all well and good, but the Summer Split is what really counts. Win and you're going to Worlds. With that on the line, you can bet that teams will come out in full force to try and snag the crown.
